What Are You Hiding?

Copyright 2009 Vinny Ribas

Many people have brilliant product or business ideas that they never tell a soul for any number of reasons. Sometimes they are afraid of getting laughed at by others. Sometimes they’ve failed at being an entrepreneur before, so they are afraid they won’t be taken seriously. Others might not have the confidence to take their idea to fruition. And others know that if they tell someone what they are dreaming of, they might be held accountable to seriously act on it. Some others tell a few close people, but when people don’t call them a genius and throw money at them right away, they think their ideas must be foolish. For whatever reason, many great ideas are never given the chance to take root and grow to become viable and profitable businesses or products.

I firmly believe that for every great idea that anyone thinks, somewhere there are people who believe enough in its promise to bring the pieces to the table that are necessary to make it happen. That ranges from the expertise to the strategic contacts to the capital. The challenge is finding those people. There is only one way that I know of that can solve this problem Tell enough people about your ideas and your plans and ask them all for their support until you either find the right people or the people you tell introduce you to the right people.

There is no greater and empowering feeling than to realize that other people believe in you and are willing to contribute to your success. But you’ll never know that feeling unless you break through your fears and let the world know what you’re hiding!
